Eastern Illinois men's cross country placed fourth while the Panther women placed sixth in a competitive field on Friday evening at the Country Financial Illinois State Invitational. EIU returns to action Oct. 2 at the Notre Dame Invite.Riley McInerney led the EIU men with a second place finish on the 8K course as he posted a time of 24:38.2. Paxson Menard was 8th with a time of 24:58.7.Maria Baldwin was the women's top finisher for EIU with a 12th place showing. Baldwin ran the 8K course in a time of 18:14.6.
